In May, we announced our term reprice, operational and underwriting improvements to maximize value for you and your clients.

Simplified access and faster decisions: We’ve enhanced the online application and underwriting experience

 

Enhanced registration: A majority of customers will qualify* for this new way to access their online applications, customer portal and EPD through a personalized URL (PURL) link which provides a simplified interface and personal authentication that is streamlined and requires only providing a One-Time Passcode (Authentication) and SSN verification to enter into their Online Interview questionnaire.

  • Since launching May 1, we have seen the success rates of online accessibility to online applications improve from 75% success rate to 95% success rate! This means the customer should not need to contact Protective for help during the online access process.  
  • The PURL will be unique to each customer and transmit application details to match to their online interview. It will be texted or emailed to them in the same way we transmitted prior to the change. 
  • Once accessed, only the One-Time Passcode will be required which will be sent via text SMS or email depending on selection.

 

Underwriting updates: Our underwriting process now offers a better agent and client experience. Term policies ($1 million and under, ages 18 to 50) now qualify for accelerated underwriting more often, and Protective Velocity streamlines everything from submission to commission for quicker results. 
  • Since launching May 1, we have doubled our accelerated underwriting throughput and have seen significant improvements in decisioning and cycle times. 
  • Medical and risk question verbiage** was simplified, making the application process faster and easier to understand.  
  • Internal underwriting efficiencies were implemented, supporting quicker decision-making. 

 

Straight through processing/instant issue 

  • Since enhancing May 1, we have more than doubled our cases eligible for instant issue. 
  • Eligible ages are 18-60, all UL and term products for drop ticket only.   
  • The recent underwriting enhancements improve the offering for policy ages 18-50, up to $1 million on term products only.  
  • With these changes you could see a policy being issued at a faster rate than before, which means acting on our shared promise to our customers!
